Kristin, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator

Kristin Vandehey is an RN, Certified Diabetes Educator.

Kristin has been teaching diabetes and pre-diabetes self-management skills since 1994. Her clientele has ranges from 18 to 90+ years of age, in numerous outpatient clinics and in-hospital settings. She works one-on-one with people as well as in groups who have diabetes, pre-diabetes, or who desire counseling in how to prevent either. This includes lifestyle adjustment involving nutrition, exercise, and medical management. Kristin joins our network as an independent contractor helping our clients optimize function and health.

Kristin has worked as a diabetes case manager, clinic instructor, diabetes support group leader, insulin pump trainer, and has developed and taught diabetes and pre-diabetes curricula in accordance with the American Diabetes Association(ADA) guidelines.

As a chair member on the ADA Professional Practice Update committee for 10 years, Kistin helps develop the topics, speakers, and overall venue for the annual Oregon Update meeting for the medical community. She is also active in the Oregon Chapter of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
